General Description
This popular design by Arthur DeFever and produced by CTF in
Kaoshing has been superb for cruising and as a live aboard. The
current owners of 10+ years have cruised Lionheart from Glacier Bay,
AK through the Panama Canal, and then around Americas Great Loop.
She also cruised to circumnavigate Vancouver Island, to the Bahamas,
as well as out the St. Lawrence Seaway and around Nova Scotia, and
down the US East Coast. The layout is 2 staterooms below forward
with two heads and one dedicated shower, raised pilothouse, galley
and salon aft of the pilothouse. The interior is accessed through p
& stb. doors to the pilothouse, stb. door adjacent to the galley and
wet bar, and double doors aft. The side and aft decks are covered.
Boarding is through 2 side coaming doors and an aft door. The 5.5
foot extension makes boarding the dingy safe and easy. The extension
stabilizes the boats performance, and is great for swimming,
fishing, storage, and contains a 220 USG fuel tank. The Portuguese
Bridge is a wonderful amenity and contains additional storage. The
state rooms and saloon are air conditioned. The engine room is
accessed through the stern lazarette, and can be accessed through a
galley floor hatch. The dingy is a Zodiac Yachtline with a 30 hp 4
stroke (power tilt and trim). The crane is Brower Systems 800 lb.
capacity and utilizes a hydraulic arm and 12 volt powered cable,
making launching and stowing a breeze. Storage is abundant. She has
active hydraulic stabilizers and hydraulic bow thruster. There is
much more equipment and extensive upgrades which will be listed
where appropriate. Note: The radar arch is reversed from the
standard layout.
Guest Stateroom and Head Forward
There are two bunks, high and low, stb. and port. The mattresses are
hinged for easy access and management and have custom fitted sheets.
The lighted chain locker is forward, and there is storage above and
below the port bunk. There are three large drawers and a hanging
locker to stb. Lighting is high intensity as well as one reading
lamp at the head of each bunk. One of three access points to the
forward bilge is in the sole. The Wesmar Hydraulic bow thruster is
in the bilge as well as 2 bilge pumps. There are blackout shades for
all 4 ports. Additional shelving has been built into lockers and
cabinets. One AC (heat-cool) outlet and one electric heater serve
this room. A dehumidifier is mounted beneath the stb. bunk. An Air
Lights air purifier is in the head.
Guest Head
The head is a Galley Maid electric head and is served with fresh
water. Three spacious lockers are conveniently located in this head.
There is a large mirror and two light fixtures. The basin fixtures
are new. (This is the captain’s private head when no visitors are
aboard)
Master Stateroom and Head
Just outside the master stateroom is a large lighted hanging locker
with upgraded shelving. The bed is an island queen with a hinged
“Handcraft Mattress“, and custom fitted sheets. Storage is in seven
large drawers, 3 hanging lockers, and another locker beneath the
stairway to the pilothouse. The central vacuum unit is located in
this space, and custom shelving provides additional storage. There
are 6 high intensity lights in the ceiling on 3 separate circuits -
2 reading lights, and lights in the hanging locker, and recessed low
intensity lighting above the port ports. Black out curtains and
custom shades enhance sleeping comfort. Large wall mirrors are
forward and aft. A large locker is beneath the bed, and 2 additional
access hatches to the forward bilge are in this stateroom. One AC
(reverse cycle) and 1 electric heater as well as a cruising heat
outlet serve this stateroom. The in suite head has high intensity
lighting, 2 large mirrors, a shower stall with an evacuation blower,
2 large lockers , and a Galley Maid electric head plumbed with fresh
water.

The pilothouse includes an L shaped settee with very large cabinets
beneath and behind, two book cases, a 6 pole fishing pole rack, high
and low intensity lighting, custom wheel, helm seat, two large chart
drawers with chart table above, and another large cabinet. The
electronics cabinet has full access from behind - there is a smoke
detector within. There are 2 - 4D glass batteries dedicated to
inverter power for maintaining the ice maker and freezer when shore
power is not available. Access to the flying bridge and galley is to
stb. aft. Steps to the state rooms are stb. forward; the central
vacuum outlet is adjacent to the steps. A Galaxy magnetic compass,
clock, barometer, electric heater and a cruising heater outlet are
